Creativity and meaning was the theme as Salem Prep High School students celebrated Dominican Republic Independence Day Tuesday, Feb. 27. Students were tasked to design faceless dolls, a tradition in the Dominican Republic, choosing their own colors and the messaging to be presented in class.
The faceless doll represents women in the many walks of life in the Dominican Republic. Since 1985, the faceless doll has become a symbol of Dominican culture.
